- Protective barrier
- Adhesive
- Wound covering
- Barrier function
- No preperation
- Off-the-shelve
Benefits
Perforations of the tympanic membrane can come in different shapes and sizes due to a wide variety of causes. Complicated cases requiring an underlay procedure are oftentimes performed in the OR and under general anaesthesia. Even with successful procedures, residual or recurrent perforations may occur. For these (revision) cases which are limited in size (alike some primary perforations), a full OR facilitated procedure is not necessary. A transcanal overlay during an in-office procedure under local anaesthesia will suffice. In these cases, EpiPatch offers a biological patch that serves as a bandage and covering to protect the surgical area.
